It might not be a good sign...

...when Iran's "leading hard-line daily hailed the outcome of Iraq’s parliamentary elections as "the creation of the first Islamist state in the Arab world". "Of the 275 seats in Iraq’s new parliament, 140 will belong to pious Islamists, 60 will be occupied by Kurds with excellent ties with Iran, and 40 will belong to Sunni Arabs, most of whom want a sovereign, Islamist state”, the daily Kayhan’s Saturday editorial noted. “The new government – including the President, the Prime Minister, the cabinet, the armed forces and the judiciary – will emerge from this new assembly".
Huh, nice job, George...'Building a democracy in the Middle East', are you?

Breaking News: Osama Spotted In Aruba!

Where's Osama bin Laden? Many US experts believe he no longer runs Al Qaeda. 'US Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld said Wednesday that he doubts Osama bin Laden is in any position to command the worldwide operations of Al Qaeda. The BBC reports that Mr. Rumsfeld told reporters on a flight to Pakistan that bin Laden could still be hiding along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, but it was hard to know since the terrorist leader had not been heard from in more than a year'. "I have trouble believing he is able to operate sufficiently to be in a position of major command over a worldwide Al Qaeda operation, but I could be wrong." Nah,...you be wrong Mr. Secretary? Would never suggest such a thing...

It's funny how they do that...

This headline on Drudge this morning; "CELEBRITIES REFUSE TO ENTERTAIN TROOPS..." We all know what Drudge is implying here, LIBERAL HOLLYWOOD HATES THE TROOPS! Hey Drudge, how many times have you been over to Iraq? What about Oxycotin Pig Boy or Sean Hannity, Bill O'Reilly, Michael Reagan, Neil Bortz, Laura Ingraham, Ann Coulter, Thomas Sowell, Mike Savage, John Gibson, Pat Cavuto, Tony Snow, Brit Hume or Mark Levin? How about George W. Bush? Oh sure, he snuck-in once for Thanksgiving and stayed for about 10 minutes so I guess he's good for another 2,163 lives. On the other hand, Al Franken has been over in Iraq entertaining the troops for two weeks now. His third time in Iraq! A Jew, touring Iraq, Afghanistan and Kuwait for two+ weeks with a 'Christian hip-hop group'-(Al's gotta be diggin' that). I did see where you slipped part of that in at the end of the article. And, Robin Williams? Goddamn smarmy-ass LIBERAL who will go over in the spring for his '4th visit'! Yeah, these rightwing big-mouthed 'love the troops as long as they do the dying for me' hypocrites with all your yellow bumper decals ought shut the hell up about all your heroes because they're nothing but a bunch loudmouth chickenshit chickenhawks just like yourselves! Merry Christmas......hypocrites! Now, shut up or put up! The story

Could somebody give Santorum a rudder?

'Election Year Rick' Santorum Breaks Ties With Law Center "Sen. Rick Santorum on Thursday withdrew his affiliation from the Christian-rights law center that defended a school district's policy mandating the teaching of "intelligent design." Santorum, the Senate's No. 3 Republican who is facing a tough re-election challenge next year, earlier praised the Dover Area School District for "attempting to teach the controversyof evolution." But the day after a federal judge ruled the district's policy on intelligent design unconstitutional, Santorum told The Philadelphia Inquirer he was troubled by testimony indicating religion motivated some board members to adopt the policy. Santorum was on the advisory board of the Michigan-based Thomas More Law Center, which defended the district's policy. The law center describes its mission as defending the religious freedom of Christians. "I thought the Thomas More Law Center made a huge mistake in taking this case and in pushing this case to the extent they did," Santorum said Wednesday. He said he would end his affiliation with the center. The leading Democratic challenger in Santorum's 2006 re-election battle, state Treasurer Robert P. Casey Jr., accused him of backtracking on intelligent design. Casey spokesman Larry Smar said Wednesday that Santorum's statements were "yet another example of 'Election Year Rick' changing his positions for political expediency." Casey has led Santorum in recent polls. Richard Thompson, president and chief counsel of the center, said Santorum's withdrawal came as no surprise because several weeks earlier the senator had indicated that he was unhappy with the center's involvement in the case. "It is a very controversial issue, as you know, and he is involved in a very hotly contested Senate race, and it's probably in his best interest," Thompson said Thursday".
Santorum's seat in Pennsylvania should be a slam-dunk for Democrats in 2006. If the people in Blue State Pennsylvania can't get rid of this guy, Diebold must be counting the votes. Casey Jr. should beat that fool like a bad piece of meat and when it comes to Republicans like Santorum getting thrown out of Congress, it doesn't get any better for the country. Casey Jr. in 2006 - He's got his own heart and 'nads' to boot!

Parliamentary "hold"?

A Lone G.O.P. Senator, Unknown, Holds Up an Intelligence Bill
"WASHINGTON, Dec. 23 - An unidentified Republican senator has blocked the authorization bill that sets guidance for all intelligence spending, and the measure must now wait for Congress to return next month from recess, Congressional officials said Friday. The bill, setting broad policies on intelligence matters, is one of the last items of significant business that was left hanging as lawmakers went home for the holiday recess. The parliamentary "hold" was put on the intelligence authorization bill under Senate rules that allow a single senator acting anonymously to delay action on legislation. It appeared to be intended to block amendments dealing with the detention and treatment of captured terror suspects and with intelligence on Iraq".
What an idiot. One of the recorded votes on those amendments was 90-9, and a 'single senator acting anonymously' can put a 'hold' on that?

Bush Pardons Moonshiners, Bank Robber and Lawyer of Campaign Contributor

"President Bush has granted 11 pardons, bringing to 69 the number of clemency orders he has issued since taking office five years ago, the Justice Department said. Three moonshiners and a bank robber are among those pardoned, as is a Denver attorney with Republican political ties. The pardons were issued Tuesday, in keeping with a tradition of granting clemency during the holiday season. One of those pardoned, Wendy St. Charles, is a lawyer for a Denver homebuilder, MDC Holdings, parent of Richmond American Homes, The Denver Post reported. St. Charles was convicted on drug charges in 1984 and sentenced to four years in prison. MDC's chairman, Larry Mizel, has contributed more than half a million dollars to Republican campaigns along with his wife, Carol, according to the Center for Responsive Politics. A company spokeswoman did not immediately return a phone call from The Associated Press".
Tis' the Season...It's a nice gesture to pardon people. It was a nice gesture when Clinton did it, too.....But more than likely those who complained when Clinton did it, won't be saying the same thing now...

Them damn travel perks are purty good, huh, Uncle Dickie?
Cheney cozy in "silver bullet" Vice President Dick Cheney didn't suffer for lack of comfort on the cavernous cargo plane that he rode into Iraq and Afghanistan this week. The Air Force loaded the plane with the "silver bullet," a mobile home in the sky strapped down in the middle of the plane's belly. The accommodations included sleeping and working quarters that protected Cheney from the noise and cold of the cargo hold during a more than five-hour flight into Baghdad. The rest of his traveling party was not so lucky. Cheney's senior staff and junior aides were assigned to a cramped three rows of seats in front of the bullet, while reporters and Secret Service agents had to sit in jump seats along the side with a view of Cheney's stainless-steel exterior walls. Despite the noise and seating conditions, Cheney's staff eventually was able to nod off after days of exhausting travel. Cheney emerged at one point to pose for a picture standing in front of several rows of his dozing aides.
Recent memories of criticism on how one treats Secret Service agents come to mind when I read that. I'm trying to remember who was criticizing whom…....it’ll come to me here in a second.

Another Disappointing Christmas for Rumsfeld

Another Christmas comes and Donald Rumsfeld is still stuck without the Army 'he wished he had'
Wednesday, December 8, 2004
Q: Yes, Mr. Secretary. My question is more logistical. We’ve had troops in Iraq for coming up on three years and we’ve always staged here out of Kuwait. Now why do we soldiers have to dig through local landfills for pieces of scrap metal and compromise ballistic glass to up-armor our vehicles and why don’t we have those resources readily available to us? [Applause] SEC. RUMSFELD: I missed the first part of your question. And could you repeat it for me? Q: Yes, Mr. Secretary. Our soldiers have been fighting in Iraq for coming up on three years. A lot of us are getting ready to move north relatively soon. Our vehicles are not armored. We’re digging pieces of rusted scrap metal and compromised ballistic glass that’s already been shot up, dropped, busted, picking the best out of this scrap to put on our vehicles to take into combat. We do not have proper armament vehicles to carry with us north. SEC. RUMSFELD: I talked to the General coming out here about the pace at which the vehicles are being armored. They have been brought from all over the world, wherever they’re not needed, to a place here where they are needed. I’m told that they are being – the Army is – I think it’s something like 400 a month are being done. And it’s essentially a matter of physics. It isn’t a matter of money. It isn’t a matter on the part of the Army of desire. It’s a matter of production and capability of doing it. As you know, you go to war with the Army you have. They’re not the Army you might want or wish to have at a later time. Since the Iraq conflict began, the Army has been pressing ahead to produce the armor necessary at a rate that they believe – it’s a greatly expanded rate from what existed previously, but a rate that they believe is the rate that is all that can be accomplished at this moment. I can assure you that General Schoomaker and the leadership in the Army and certainly General Whitcomb are sensitive to the fact that not every vehicle has the degree of armor that would be desirable for it to have, but that they’re working at it at a good clip. It’s interesting, I’ve talked a great deal about this with a team of people who’ve been working on it hard at the Pentagon. And if you think about it, you can have all the armor in the world on a tank and a tank can be blown up. And you can have an up-armored humvee and it can be blown up. And you can go down and, the vehicle, the goal we have is to have as many of those vehicles as is humanly possible with the appropriate level of armor available for the troops. And that is what the Army has been working on. And General Whitcomb, is there anything you’d want to add to that? GEN. WHITCOMB: Yes, Mr Secretary, you sure are one stupid son-of-a-bitch, aren't you?

Guerrillas stormed an Iraqi army post on Friday, killing 10 soldiers and wounding 20, as Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld told U.S. combat troops their numbers would fall as Iraqi forces were trained to take over. While Rumsfeld made a pre-Christmas visit to a Marine base in the subdued rebel stronghold of Falluja, west of Baghdad, gunmen launched a mass assault on the roadside outpost near Adhaim, north of the capital, that lasted all morning. GEN FDUPWTHESELRS: Mr. Secretary, SEC RUMSFELD: Well, I'm back guys... I know....another Christmas. Gentlemen, as you can see from the report there... things are going great for the Iraqi people now....... Hey relax! Will get that armor, soldier! Quit whining...You guys are the guys I'm stuck with.....and the oil wells are starting pump a little more oil ...and, huh,...we got through that election ....and, the goddamn armor will be getting here soon---you wimps!!....uh.. Merry Christmas,...now where's my escort...get my ass out of here....

Walmart Pays Employees Christmas Bonuses

In a beautiful display of Christmas giving, Walmart gave 116,000 California Walmart employees bonuses of what averages out to around $1,500 a per employee. You see, Walmart isn't as bad of a place to work as some would make it seem.
"An Oakland jury Thursday awarded $172 million to 116,000 current and former employees of Wal-Mart Stores Inc. in the first of dozens of wage and hour class-action lawsuits targeting the giant retailer to go to trial. The world's largest retailer was ordered to pay $57 million in general damages and $115 million in punitive damages to employees for violating a 2001 state law that requires employers to provide 30-minute unpaid lunch breaks to employees who work at least six hours in a shift. California law requires companies to pay workers a full hour's wages for every missed lunch. Lawyers for Wal-Mart had argued that workers did not demand their penalty wages on a timely basis".
Timely? Just in time for the holidays!

Poor Teddy, you should have compromised...

Stevens: 'This is the saddest day of my life' Would you like some cheese with that whine, Teddy?
'Sen. Ted Stevens couldn't be seen for several hours Wednesday afternoon, but he could be felt. For about nine hours, other senators wandered on and off the Senate floor while chatting with colleagues and trying to find a way to thaw the freeze that settled in after Stevens lost a vote on Alaska oil drilling. Stevens did not appear until late in the evening, though. He had lost the vote, but the question remained for all those hours--what would he do, concede or fight? His junior colleague from Alaska, Sen. Lisa Murkowski, estimated that she and Stevens spent about three hours mulling the question after the noon vote failed to cut off a Democratic filibuster. In the meantime, Stevens stayed off the floor. "He had to breathe," Murkowski said'.
Poor Teddy, if you wanted it so bad, you and the other Republicans should have compromised. You shouldn't have tried to ram it through on the defense bill, Teddy. And you Republicans it seems are going to have to start giving a little tit for tat to get your way for awhile. Well, let's hope so anyway. And as it's been mentioned here before; ANWR is a bunch to do about not much. It's estimated we will get enough oil for less than 500 days from ANWR. Less than 16 months of oil at our current consumption level of 20.5 million barrels per day ....But go back to the Senate and do a little compromising Teddy. It'll make you feel better.

Ass Backwards Policy

Just when you thought the Bush administration couldn't get any dumber, they announce they are now going to reduce the number of troops in Afghanistan. If you want to be taken serious about 'fighting a war on terror', you need to finish the war with those who are responsible for 9/11. Where's bin Laden? The most incompetent administration this country has ever had....It's not even close...
U.S. to Reduce Number of Troops in Afghanistan The United States said it had ordered a reduction in the number of American troops in Afghanistan to about 16,500 from the current 19,000 by next spring. The first such cut since U.S. forces invaded in 2001 to oust the Taliban government was sparked by a planned increase in NATO peacekeepers there next year and the growing size of Afghan security forces, Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld and other defense officials said. Rumsfeld told reporters flying with him to Asia on Tuesday that the U.S. military would "continue to do the heavy lifting" in Afghanistan despite the reduction, even as the North Atlantic Treaty Organization boosts its International Security Assistance Force to 15,000.

New Orleans Pigs May Go To Market

Do you remember the video of those three white cops beating up the elderly black man in New Orleans shortly after Hurricane Katrina? Two of them were fired and one was suspended for 120 days on Wednesday. All three officers had been suspended without pay since the incident. They have pleaded not guilty to the charges and face trial Jan. 11. I think a year in jail, mixed in with the general population with other prisoners would be just about the right amount of justice for these punks. We'd get a chance to see just how tough they really are. Unfortunately, we know that won't happen.
Two of the officers videotaped by the Associated Press beating a man in the French Quarter shortly after Hurricane Katrina were fired Tuesday. A third officer was suspended. Officers Robert Evangelist and Lance Shilling were fired for their role in the beating of 64-year-old Robert Davis. Officer Stuart Smith was suspended for 120 days. Davis is black; the three officers are white. Evangelist and Schilling were accused of battery on Davis. Smith was accused of battery of a reporter. All three officers had been suspended without pay since the Oct. 8 incident. They have pleaded not guilty to the charges and face trial Jan. 11.

Got a call last night...

I got a call last night from an old friend named Ben, and he wanted me to pass this along to all the right wing sheep out there that have fallen for George Bush's ruse and allowed him to lead so many of you around by your noses. "They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety". Ben Franklin He was also a bit flabbergasted by how so many of you could have supported someone so dumb and someone so against 'essential liberty'; And of course I easily explained to him, what did you think they'd do? They are 'sheep' after all. Grow some testicles wimps!

Clinton did it, too! ..... Ah, no he didn't

It never fails. Every time Bush gets caught with his pants down all the whiney right-wingnuts proclaim, 'Clinton did it, too". Well, when it comes to warrantless surveillance of U.S. citizens, Clinton did NOT do it, too! The mouthpieces and the Bush-apologists (Drudge and Oxycotin Pig Boy) and collaborators of the Republican Party keep talking about 'foreign intelligence' as if the Democrats, and the few Republicans who have the integrity to stand up for liberty and the 4th Amendment, are complaining about spying on 'foreigners' and that's NOT what their argument is at all. Bush spied on American citizens without a warrant and spied on American citizens in some instances INSIDE the U.S. That is clearly a crime and one not committed by any president since Richard Nixon. Not Ford, not Carter, not Reagan, not Bush Sr., and not Bill Clinton. Richard Nixon and George W. Bush are the only two to blatantly break that law. And, the same thing that happened to Nixon needs to happen to the criminal who currently occupies the White House. Fact Check: Clinton/Carter Executive Orders Did Not Authorize Warrantless Searches of Americans The top of the Drudge Report claims "CLINTON EXECUTIVE ORDER: SECRET SEARCH ON AMERICANS WITHOUT COURT ORDER" It's not true. Here's the breakdown - What Drudge says: Clinton, February 9, 1995: "The Attorney General is authorized to approve physical searches, without a court order" What Clinton actually signed: Section 1. Pursuant to section 302(a)(1) [50 U.S.C. 1822(a)] of the [Foreign Intelligence Surveillance] Act, the Attorney General is authorized to approve physical searches, without a court order, to acquire foreign intelligence information for periods of up to one year, if the Attorney General makes the certifications required by that section. That section requires the Attorney General to certify is the search will not involve "the premises, information, material, or property of a United States person." That means U.S. citizens or anyone inside of the United States. The entire controversy about Bush's program is that, for the first time ever, allows warrantless surveillance of U.S. citizens and other people inside of the United States. Clinton's 1995 executive order did not authorize that. Drudge pulls the same trick with Carter. What Drudge says: Jimmy Carter Signed Executive Order on May 23, 1979: "Attorney General is authorized to approve electronic surveillance to acquire foreign intelligence information without a court order." What Carter's executive order actually says: 1-101. Pursuant to Section 102(a)(1) of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act of 1978 (50 U.S.C. 1802(a)), the Attorney General is authorized to approve electronic surveillance to acquire foreign intelligence information without a court order, but only if the Attorney General makes the certifications required by that Section. What the Attorney General has to certify under that section is that the surveillance will not contain "the contents of any communication to which a United States person is a party." So again, no U.S. persons are involved. Thanks, Think Progress And, in case you need more proof, here's Media Matters

Appeals Court Rejects Bush's Bid to Transfer Padilla

The Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, like the majority of Americans, are fed up with Bush's shenanigans of denying people their constitutional rights and rejected his attempt to skirt around the Supreme Court. Jose Padilla, an American citizen with the same rights as you and me has been denied his constitutional rights by Bush for over 3 1/2 years. Padilla's right to a speedy trial and his right to an attorney were long ago violated and it's way past time that the Supreme Court steps in and identifies the Bush administration's violation of the law. Will see if the Supreme Court follows the U.S. Constitution when it finally rules on his case.
"A federal appeals court delivered a stunning rebuke to the Bush administration today, refusing to allow the transfer of Jose Padilla from military custody to civilian law enforcement authorities to face terrorism charges in criminal court. In denying the administration's request, the three-judge panel also said in a strongly worded opinion that the Justice Department's attempt to transfer Mr. Padilla gave the appearance that the government was trying to manipulate the court system to prevent the Supreme Court from reviewing the case. The judges warned that the administration might be jeopardizing its credibility before the courts in terrorism cases. What made today's action by the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit in Richmond, Va., so startling, lawyers and others said, was that it came from a panel of judges who had provided the administration with a major court victory in September, saying that President Bush had the authority to detain Mr. Padilla, an American citizen, as an enemy combatant. But the judges were clearly angered when the Bush administration suddenly shifted course on Nov. 22, saying it no longer needed that authority because it had decided to try Mr. Padilla in a civilian court. The government said that as a result of the shift, it was no longer necessary for the Supreme Court to review the issue of whether Mr. Bush could detain an American citizen indefinitely as an enemy combatant. Many legal analysts interpreted the sudden change in approach as an effort to avoid a Supreme Court review of the Fourth Circuit ruling".

TWA Hijacker Released from German Custody

Mohammed Scumbag Germany Paroles Lebanese Man Serving Life Sentence for 1985 Hijacking of TWA Airliner
'A hijacker in a terrorist act that riveted America the 1985 seizure of a TWA jet in which a U.S. Navy diver was killed has returned home to Lebanon, paroled by Germany after serving 19 years of a life sentence. The United States said Tuesday it wants Lebanon to turn over Mohammed Ali Hamadi for trial in the killing of the diver, Robert Dean Stethem. "We have demonstrated over the years that when we believe an individual is responsible for the murder of innocent American civilians, that we will track them down and that we will bring them to justice in the United States," State Department spokesman Sean McCormack said. Trans World Airlines Flight 847, with 145 passengers and nine crew members, was flying from Athens to Rome on June 14, 1985, when it was hijacked by Shiite Muslim militants demanding the release of hundreds of Lebanese from Israeli jails. During a 17-day ordeal, the plane was forced to crisscross the Mediterranean from Lebanon to Algeria, landing in Beirut three times before it was finally allowed to remain there. Witnesses later identified Hamadi as having beaten the tied-up Stethem. According to testimony at Hamadi's trial, when Stethem complained about his bonds, Hamadi responded: "Let the pig suffer." The plane's flight engineer testified at the 1989 trial that Hamadi bragged he had killed Stethem'.

Let's give them a hand!

"The Republican-controlled Senate passed legislation to cut federal deficits by $39.7 billion on Wednesday by the narrowest of margins, 51-50, with Vice President Dick Cheney casting the deciding vote. The measure, the product of a year's labors by the White House and the GOP in Congress, imposes the first restraints in nearly a decade in federal benefit programs such as Medicaid, Medicare and student loans".
After five years of budgetary disaster, record setting deficits, $2 trillion added to the national debt, $300 billion (to date) in unnecessary spending in Iraq, and of course, this all following Bill Clinton's record SURPLUSES, the Republicans are going to crow about cutting a lousy $8 billion a year. And, of course, they cut the wrong programs. Sure, let's give Republicans a hand. A lousy $8 billion, the same amount Bush is wasting every 5-6 weeks in Iraq. The Pathetic Party....

Pan Am Flight 103-December 21, 1988

Pan Am Flight 103 was Pan American World Airways' second daily regularly scheduled transatlantic flight from London's Heathrow International Airport to New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport. On December 21, 1988, the aircraft flying this route, a Boeing 747-100 registered N739PA and named "Clipper Maid of the Seas", was blown up as it flew over Lockerbie, Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland, when 12 to 16 oz (340 to 450 g) of plastic explosive was detonated in its forward cargo hold, triggering a sequence of events that led to the rapid destruction of the aircraft. Winds of 100 knots (190 km/h) scattered passengers and debris along an 130 km (81 mile) corridor over an area of 845 square miles (2189 km²). Two hundred and seventy people from 21 countries died, including 11 people on the ground. Known as the Lockerbie bombing and the Lockerbie air disaster in the UK, it became the subject of Britain's largest criminal inquiry, led by its smallest police force. It was widely regarded as an assault on a symbol of the United States, and with 189 of the victims being Americans, it stood as the deadliest attack on American civilians until September 11, 2001. Trouble in Bolivia?

Socialist Evo Morales assured of becoming Bolivia's next president, winning 51.2 percent of the popular vote
"The sweeping if unofficial victory of Evo Morales in Bolivia's presidential election Sunday has made the former coca farmer and grass-roots activist the nation's strongest elected leader since the end of the last military dictatorship in 1982 and has given him an unprecedented opportunity to transform the impoverished Andean country. The question, say both Bolivian and U.S. observers, is whether the socialist candidate will use that mandate to enact pledges for radical economic and political change that won him support among indigenous and poor voters, or demonstrate enough pragmatism to reassure foreign governments and investors whose support he needs for economic development. Morales, 46, is a fiery politician and an Aymara Indian who electrified Bolivia's poor but struck fear into the business elite and irritated officials in Washington by opposing U.S. anti-drug programs and spouting anti-imperialist rhetoric. Whichever path he chooses, his victory stands to resonate far beyond the small, land-locked nation with a history of military coups and wobbly civilian governments".

Bush Busted!

Thanks Hardball! Below is the transcript from Bush's speech at Kleinshans Music Hall Buffalo, New York on April 20, 2004. Let's take a look at what Bush said on that day. And of course, the link to the full transcript is here also.
BUSH:So the first thing I want you to think about is, when you hear Patriot Act, is that we changed the law and the bureaucratic mind-set to allow for the sharing of information. It's vital. And others will describe what that means. Secondly, there are such things as roving wiretaps. Now, by the way, any time you hear the United States government talking about wiretap, it requires -- a wiretap requires a court order. Nothing has changed, by the way. When we're talking about chasing down terrorists, we're talking about getting a court order before we do so. It's important for our fellow citizens to understand, when you think Patriot Act, constitutional guarantees are in place when it comes to doing what is necessary to protect our homeland, because we value the Constitution. ...The Patriot Act changed that. So with court order, law enforcement officials can now use what's called roving wiretaps, which will prevent a terrorist from switching cell phones in order to get a message out to one of his buddies. Thirdly, to give you an example of what we're talking about, there's something called delayed notification warrants. Those are very important. I see some people, first responders nodding their heads about what they mean. These are a common tool used to catch mobsters. In other words, it allows people to collect data before everybody is aware of what's going on. It requires a court order. It requires protection under the law. We couldn't use these against terrorists, but we could use against gangs.
Bush both admits back in April 2004 that he knew he needed a court order and he knew it was an easy process that could be done after the fact. The man is so ignorant he can't now remember what he admitted to at that time. But, also remember, he was lying then because we know that he was already spying on American citizens for two years prior to this news conference. Bush is an admitted liar and I can tell you one thing, his lies about the lead up to the invasion of Iraq and now his lying about spying on American citizens (note to ignorant-read the 4th amendment-even you can understand it) is a crime far more serious than lying about consensual sex. Impeach that stupid bastard NOW! Transcript
