Bush said Tuesday that he would travel to India and Pakistan in March, but made no public comment about the American airstrikes that killed 18 civilians, including women and children, in one of Pakistan's remote tribal areas earlier this month. Pakistan's prime minister, Shaukat Aziz, remarked that the airstrikes have infuriated Pakistanis, but not so much that an additional $20 billion wouldn't make things much better.

On August 15, 1935, Wiley Post, the first pilot to fly solo around the world, and American humorist Will Rogers were killed when Post's plane crashed on takeoff from a lagoon near Point Barrow, in Alaska.
