'Thousands' of mistakes made in Iraq

The US secretary of state, Condoleezza Rice, today admitted in Blackburn that the US had made "thousands" of tactical errors in Iraq, as she made a two-day visit dogged by anti-war protests. Accompanied by the foreign secretary, Jack Straw, around a school, football club and arms factory in the north-west, Ms Rice also said the US had no wish to be the "world's jailor". Her 48-hour trip has seen a visit to a mosque cancelled and her arrival, hotel and school visit were all picketed by anti-war protesters. On the issue of Iraq, Ms Rice acknowledged during a question and answer session with an audience at Ewood Park, the ground of Blackburn Rovers, that the US had made mistakes. "I know we have made tactical errors, thousands of them I am sure," she said.
You can't abscond from responsibility by now admitting you were incompetent. Way too much damage has been done, Secretary Rice.
