Republican Family Values -- Sluts and Nuts

'Mary Bono, who understandably guards her privacy, broke the wall of silence this week to say she and Rep. Connie Mack, R-Fla., are romantically involved; they have been an item since late September. A budding romance between the two Republican members of Congress has been the subject of speculation among the Washington press corps since at least mid-October. They wanted to tell their story in their own way, in their own time. They have decided now is the time; this column is the place. Mack, 38, announced his divorce from his wife, Ann, in August; he has two children. Bono, 43, followed with her own announcement on Sept. 28 that she would separate - and ultimately divorce - her husband, Glenn Baxley. It was her second marriage; her first husband, Sonny Bono, was killed in a skiing accident in 1998.
Fine young Republican couple extolling the traditional family values in the traditional way a lot of the hypocrites on the right are so good at. Good old Sonny's been dead seven years and Mary working on her third husband. And, she's 43? Her biography on her web page says she was born in 1961. Connie Mack? When did he leave the Philly's?
