Alito Doesn't Know the Constitution

Charles Schumer asked Scalito a direct and simple question about if a person is born in this country can they have their citizenship revoked and face the possiblity of deportation. Now, I'm sorry folks, but an eighth grader should know that answer but Sam Scalito didn't know it? You must be kidding! U.S. Constitution: Fourteenth Amendment Section. 1. All persons born or naturalized in the United States and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.
'Schumer fared no better in asking about proposals to deny citizenship to illegal immigrants' children who are born in the United States, the subject of proposed legislation. Schumer asserted that any attempt to deprive those children of citizenship would violate "one of the most direct and clear provisions'' of the Constitution, the 14th Amendment's declaration that all persons born in the United States and subject to its jurisdiction are citizens. But Alito -- noting that supporters of the legislation dispute whether the children are under U.S. jurisdiction -- said it would inappropriate for a judge or court nominee to offer an opinion'.
