Stampede Near Mecca Kills 345 Friday, January 13, 2006 MINA, Saudi Arabia, Jan. 12 -- Muslim pilgrims tripped over luggage while hurrying to ritually stone the devil during Islam's annual hajj Thursday, causing a crush in which at least 345 people were trampled to death. I swear this happens every single year at Mecca. How goddamn difficult is it to walk around in a circle? These people ought to buy a clue!
