Bush doesn't get it
To begin with, Bush once again did a very poor job of reading someone else's speech. Stuttering and stammering he once again throws in 9/11 when talking about Iraq and we all know; they didn't have anything to do with each other.
Secondly, he stated that people 'think we have lost in Iraq'. I know very few people, if any, who think we've 'lost' in Iraq.
What is winning? What is losing? We kill 100,000 of them and they kill 2,154 of us. We needlessly lose those men and women and have another 20-30,000 maimed. Is that winning? I haven't personally sacrificed anything but my share of the $1/2 trillion Bush will have wasted by the time he's through.
But I know a lot of people, mostly the people who tend to be much smarter than others, and those who are honest with themselves, who know it was a stupid blunder to go into Iraq and that certainly has turned out to be true. History will show that going there was a huge historical blunder after Iraq and Iran become allies.
And, I do know where we did lose. We lost the opportunity to avenge 9/11 and kill the real terrorists who attacked us on that day. All because the majority of Americans listened to George Bush and he ignorantly led our country astray.
Bush also told a couple of huge lies in his speech last night. One was that Saddam 'blocked the weapons inspectors'. No, George Bush ordered them out of the country even after Saddam had agreed to give them full access. The other was when he said 'Saddam made the choice for war'. No, that was Bush's choice.
But, go to my next post to realize just how stupid Bush really is when he states in his speech that the 'terrorists are only a few' while he at the same time states we've trained '125 battalions' of Iraqis.
The man is an idiot and he just doesn't get it.
